Amonics Limited was founded in 2002 by a
group of active research scientists and
engineers with many years of experience
in the field of fiber optics and optical
science. Our mission is to become the photonics
industry's leader in the design and production
of optical amplifiers.
In addition to optical amplifiers, we
produce a wide range of optical instruments
for telecommunications, fiber sensing,
and bio-medical applications. For the
customer with special requirements, we
also provide custom-making and OEM services,
manufacturing instruments to your specifications

Amonics is the industry's specialist

optical amplifiers and light sources.
Our optical amplifier product line includes
Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs),
Raman Amplifiers, Hybrid Raman-EDFA Amplifiers,
Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOAs)
for transmission over metropolitan and
long haul fiber optic communication networks.
Our broadband light sources encompass
Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE),
1050 nm ASE, and Superluminescent Diode
(SLED) broadband sources for optical component
characterization and fiber-optic sensing
applications.
We also have a line of products for
optical transmission applications, which
includes DFB lasers, FP lasers, Lightwave
Transmitters, Lightwave Converters, Lightwave

Custom-Making
and OEM Services |

Amonics' custom-making service offers
solutions to clients with specialized
needs that can not be found at companies
that sell only standardized products.
We have worked closely with numerous institutes
and research laboratories to supply them
with equipment specifically tailored to
their projects.
In the past we have expanded the power
spectrum of ASE and SLED broadband sources
to meet clients' specifications, assembled
optical components provided by the client
into functional instruments, and even
designed and built equipment to overcome
an optical networking problem challenging

With our OEM services, we work intimately
with clients to manufacture equipment
that they would be proud to put their
name on. Amonics combines the advantages
of intellectual property rights protection
in Hong Kong with low sourcing costs from
China for non-essential parts, protecting
your product design while cutting manufacturing

Education
Kits |

Amonics also
designs education packages for institutes
and research laboratories. Our EDFA
education kit provides students with
all the necessary components to construct
a fully-functional EDFA along with a DFB
laser to test it. All components are connectorized
for easy assembly without fusion splicing.
Through experiments, The kit will teach
how to characterize an EDFA and the different
factors that affect its performance.
The Bit-Error Ratio Tester (BERT) education
kit consists of Amonics' Lightwave Converter
and Lightwave Receiver that are meant to
combine with a BERT to measure the system
sensitivity of an optical communications
system and power penalties of devices or
sub-systems added to a system. Add an optical
oscilloscope, and eye-diagram analysis can
be performed as well.
